Fr. Edward Mason
A 4th generation Brooklynite, Fr. Ed Mason has been fighting for justice in the borough for the entirety of his adult life. After growing up in Bushwick, he came to East New York as a young man, initially working as a teacher in an underserved public school. Eventually electing to pursue the priesthood, he made organzing a centerpiece of his ministry. Organizing in the IAF tradition taught him how to “do church” in the community rather than just be the church on Sundays. As one of the project’s early fighters, Fr. Mason has seen Nehemiah transform the lives of hundreds of congregants over the years.
