Zandra Brockman

Zandra Brockman was raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn and later returned to the borough as an adult. As a member of St. Paul Community Baptist Church, she came across the opportunity to purchase a Nehemiah home in the New Lots development west of Pennsylvania Avenue. Her former pastor, Bishop Johnny Ray Youngblood, initiated her to the world of organizing as a part of East Brooklyn Congregations. Since becoming a Nehemiah homeowner, Zandra has remained active in her homeowner’s association and as an EBC leader at her church. As an HOA volunteer, she is one among a core group of longtime leaders who are fighting to preserve the Nehemiah legacy.
